Learning Disabilities Week

Did you know that people with learning disabilities are twice as likely to experience low self-esteem, social exclusion, and bullying? 😕

This week is Learning Disabilities Week, and the theme this year is a powerful one: "Do you see me?" 👀

It's a call to challenge the barriers that individuals with learning disabilities face in our society. Too often, their unique talents and contributions go unseen or undervalued. This week gives us an opportunity to raise awareness and understanding, as well as celebrate the incredible strengths and abilities of those with learning disabilities.

Every student should have the chance to learn and thrive. School leaders must play their part in recognising and nurturing the potential of all learners, regardless of their challenges.

This week, join us in spreading awareness and breaking down the stigma surrounding learning disabilities. The diversity of our students should be embraced, so they are empowered to reach their fullest potential. Because when we truly 'see' each other, we can build a more inclusive and equitable society for all. 🤝
